The members of the group initially met years ago at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Most have been involved in environmental engineering research and consultancy projects undertaken for various industrial companies and government institutions working as project managers or technical associates. Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Requirement in the Philippines

Certain types of projects fall under the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) requirements of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). These are called GROUP I: ENVIRONMENTALLY CRITICAL PROJECTS (ECPs) which are located in both Environmentally Critical Areas (ECAs) and Non-ECAs, as declared in and Presidential Proclamation No. 803 (1996) for Golf Courses, and Presidential Proclamation No. 2146 (1981) for Heavy and Resource Extractive Industries & Infrastructure Projects.

These projects include the ff:

  • Golf Courses
  • Iron and Steel Mills
  • Non-Ferrous Metal Industries
  • Petroleum an Petrochemical Industries
  • Smelting Plants
  • Fishery projects
  • Forestry projects such as logging and grazing projects
  • Major Mining and Quarrying Projects (coal, open pit, limestone, oil, metallic and non-metallic minerals)
  • Infrastructure Projects such as roads, bridges, dams, railways and tunnels

San Miguel Subsidiary Completes Its ECC with the Help of Pacific Spectrum Environmental

Golden Bay Grain Terminal Corporation (GBGTC) was formed in 2011 and it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of San Miguel Mills, Inc. (SMMI) which one of the business lines of San Miguel Pure Foods Company Inc. (SMPFC).

GBGTC was formed to handle and manage ports engaged in grain handling, its trade among others. Puerto Galera Completes Its Waste Analysis and Composition Study (WACS) With the Help of Pacific Spectrum Environmental

Puerto Galera is 1st Class Municipality located in Mindoro Oriental, Philippines. It is well known for its resorts, dive spots and beautiful beaches.

The municipality recently forged its solid waste management plan (SWMP) which required it to perform a Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) by virtue of RA 9003.

Pacific Spectrum Environmental (PSEnvi) was commissioned by the Municipality of Puerto Galera to conduct its WACS for the formulation of its SWMP.
