PACIFIC SPECTRUM ENVIRONMENTAL Research and Consultancy, Inc. (PSEnvi) was formed in July 2001 by a group of environmental professionals coming from the various fields of science and engineering. The members of the group initially met years ago at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Most have been involved in environmental engineering research and consultancy projects undertaken for various industrial companies and government institutions working as project managers or technical associates. The members have acquired vast experience on various environmental undertakings through environmental research, treatment process design and assessment, waste management, environmental sampling and monitoring, cleaner production and, environmental impact and risk assessments.

All Standby Power Generator Sets/Facilities are Required to Secure ERC Certificate of Compliance

According to the Energy Regulatory Commision's (ERC) REVISED RULES FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE (COCs) FOR GENERATION COMPANIES AND ENTITIES WITH GENERATION FACILITIES, all standby or back-up power generating facilities are required to secure a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the ERC. Below is an excerpt from the said Revised Rules.

The COC issued to a Generation Company shall include all of its generating facilities situated in one contiguous area, which are in operation at the time of issuance. An expansion, conversion, or repowering of any of the Generation Company’s Facilities, or an acquisition of a new Generating Facility and any Standby/Back-up facilities being operated thereby shall require a separate COC. Accordingly, a separate COC application shall be filed for that particular facility. With the exception of the Stand-by/Back-up facilities, the COC issued pursuant to said expansion,conversion, repowering and/or acquisition shall have a term equivalent to the remaining life of the COC of the Generation Company.

Certificate of Compliance (COC) Requirement of Energy Regulatory Commission for Standby Generator Sets

One of the common equipment or support facility that a lot of establishments and businesses have is a diesel-fired standby generator set.

Whether it's a hotel, condominium, gymnasium, office, resort, residence subdivision, commercial buildings, manufacturing factories, institutions such as hospitals and schools, having a standby generator set is a must.
